3D MODEL PRINTING

In the last week, I had five images transferred to 3d model designs. The intent was to have them as miniatures for my game, Kaiju Conquest. They would be stretch goals. The undamaged city image would be a special stretch goal once all other stretch goals are achieved. The damaged city image would consist of 16 minis as a stretch goal. The portal would consist of three of them and there would be six each of the Sazzarran and UNRF (human) bases, combined as another stretch goal.

I sent all of these images except the undamaged city to a local 3d Printer. They had problems with the Sazzarran base because of the arms being too fragile. Point noted, and I asked the Aleks Rakocevic, who designed these images for me, to redesign the Sazzarran base as one piece. Image to follow when it is completed.

The Adventure Continues

It has been about 10 months since I last posted on this blog. My excuse being that I have been very busy with playtesting my game, Kaiju Conquest, as well as joining various boardgame groups on Facebook, and constantly checking Kickstarter to compare games on that site to what I want to do with mine.

My excess funds have been exhausted, after the last two years of some marketing, going to a few conventions, and paying the artist, Becca T-R, to complete the graphic designs and lettering for the cards and rulebook. So I cannot go to any conventions outside of my province of Alberta, Canada, without it costing me money that would take away paying the regular bills.

In the last year, I have joined Tabletop Generation, which is an excellent site to promote a game, by inserting details about and print and play links to the games, among other things.

I originally intended to Kickstart my game in May 2015, but it was too early. Not all of the game was completed, and I did not have a lot of interested people and prospective backers. I then thought of Kickstarting in October 2015, but again, too early. So I pushed to May 2016. Well, it is May 2016, and a few weeks ago I decided to push to October 2016 as the final timeframe. By that time almost all of the game will be completed, so that when I go to Kickstart, I can produce a near final product. I believe everything will be done except the rulebook by October. But a lot could  still be done between now and then.

As for backers, etc, it has grown a bit since last year, and I can only hope when the game Kickstarts, those who have been watching will jump at the chance to back the game.

In the next few months I hope to have a few prototypes created for the game reviewers. It will cost me about $200 per game. Nothing is ever cheap in the gaming industry.

I am taking a chance right now by having a 3d designer create a 3d model of one of my mecha characters, the Battlemaster. It has taken him weeks now due to various issues. I am very patient, but soon I may have to call it quits and get someone else.

My intent is to have at leatst three mini 3d models done for the game., They would be for the UNRF and Sazzarran bases, as well as the energy portals. Next would be the Battlemaster and Warlord Azzarro, if I can get 3d model designs done before October. If not, they may just be included as Stretch Goals.
